Introduction:
The CA Automation Point (AP) client software installation media contains the AP Listener application in addition to the AP Remote Viewer client, but some users only need the Remote Viewer, not the AP Listener, and would like to stop AP Listener from starting whenever they boot their client PC.
Question:
I am using Remote Viewer from a client PC to connect to my CA Automation Point server. I am not using AP Listener, but I receive frequent popup windows from my firewall about this app. How do I stop AP Listener from starting when I boot my client PC?
Environment:

Answer:
If you are using an Administrator account or a Standard User account with Admin rights, then follow these steps to stop AP Listener from starting up whenever you boot your PC.
If you are using only a Standard User Account which is not part of the Administrators group, then you will have to ask the Administrator of your PC to use the steps above to remove CA Automation Point from Startup.
