Issue/Introduction

  • The upload of the .pub and .mub files proceeded without issue and the Upgrade Coordinator service was successfully updated to the version of the .pub/.mub file.
  • The NSX Upgrade Summary immediately showed "Upgrade Completed" for all NSX components (Edges/Hosts/NSX Manager), though they have not been updated and their "Current Version" still reflects the correct original version.

  • Hitting the NEXT button through the upgrade process shows the same for each phase and the upgrade itself never initiates.

Environment

VMware NSX

Cause

This stuck state can occur when the Upgrade Coordinator service is in the process of being upgraded on one node in an NSX-Manager cluster and a request to perform an upgrade related operation is received on another Manager node in the cluster. This may result in the upgrade of UC not completing successfully on the first node.
