Slow Page Load When Using Approve by Policy From the File Details Page

Issue/Introduction

• When using the File Details page > right-hand menu > Approve by Policy the resulting File Rule page takes a long time to load.
• When using the Action menu from Reports > Events to Approve by Policy for the same File Hash, the resulting File Rule page loads very quickly.

Environment

• App Control Server: All Supported Versions

Cause

This is being investigated and tracked by Engineering under EPCB-24611.

Resolution

If a Global Approval for the hash is desired, use one of the following methods to workaround the slow page load:

1. From the Events page
   1. Navigate to Reports > Events
   2. Use the Saved View for New Files (Unapproved) or set the Filters accordingly.
   3. Check the box next to the relevant Discovery Event for the New Unapproved File
2. From the Files page
   1. Navigate to Rules > Software Rules > Files
   2. Click Add File Rule
   3. Enter the relevant details and Hash Value
   4. Choose the relevant Policies
