Update Manufacturer attribute for WLC and APs in DX NetOps Classic

Issue/Introduction

You need to update the Manufacturer attribute on Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC) and Access Points (APs) in DX NetOps Classic․​​​​‌​‍

SYMPTOMS:

• The Manufacturer attribute is not set on some WLC or AP devices

• Deleting and re-creating the WLC sets the attribute correctly but moves all APs into the WLC container instead of their originally modeled containers

• Rediscovery only updates the WLC and not the managed APs

Resolution

 

There is no action code support in the WLC area to update manufacturer information in an AP from the WLC
This information only updates during the initial creation of the model

 

1․ Use  Attribute Editor

Path: DX NetOps Classic > Attribute Editor

Since manual updates are time-consuming for multiple devices, use the Attribute Editor to apply the Manufacturer attribute in bulk across all affected APs

OR

 

2. Use PolicyManager to update the APs.

Additional Information

If standard reconfigurations are not happening when device configurations change, verify if reconfigurations were turned off or if use_if_stack_last_change and/or use_if_table_last_change are set to false ․
If so, turn them back on ․
