Filtering Events by type using numeric digits in the VMware Host Client

Issue/Introduction

When viewing events in the VMware Host Client web UI under the Monitor -> Events tab, users may need to filter the events by their specific type (e.g., Info, Error, Warning). The filtering mechanism uses specific numeric digit mappings for each event type.

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 7.x
VMware vSphere ESXi 8.x

Resolution

To filter events by type in the VMware Host Client, navigate to the Monitor -> Events tab and enter the corresponding numeric digit in the filter box for the "Type" column:

1 : Info

2 : Error

3 : Warning

4 : Unknown
