Issue/Introduction

Usage Meter is failing to collect CPU core counts, VM power states, and vRAM usage even after registering VCF Operations.

Environment

VCF Usage Meter 9.x

Cause

In VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Usage Meter 9.0, registering VCF Operations 9.0 as a product endpoint does not automatically collect resource data (such as CPU core counts or memory usage) from its managed vCenter Server and ESXi hosts.

To generate accurate usage reports, vCenter Server must be registered separately

Resolution

To ensure accurate metering, register each endpoint individually using the following steps:

  • Navigate to [Products] > [vCenter Server] in the Usage Meter Web UI and add all vCenter instances in your environment
  • Navigate to [Products] > [Management] > [VCF Operations] and add the instance
