The customer would like to create a Role for users that can use all the options in Monitoring Profiles. This same user group cannot manage other users

Issue/Introduction

We want to create a custom role that allows users to use and manage all options in Monitoring Profiles without granting them full administrator rights to manage other users․

DX NetOps:: All Supported Versions

Cause

Monitoring Profiles do not have a dedicated role right Access requires an Administrator level role or a custom role marked as Administrator to access DA admin pages It is an all-or-none access model at this time 

Resolution

You can create a new custom role, Mark the custom role as Admin Add the Administer Data Sources right to the role Grant the user Admin product access to view Monitored Devices, Monitoring Profiles, and discovery profiles 

But users assigned to this role can manage Monitoring Profiles but will still have broad administrative access 

Additional Information

Role rights for partial DA administration do not currently support isolating Monitoring Profiles but there is an internal defect, DE182894 tracks the request to provide more granular role rights for partial DA administration
