Issue/Introduction

When installing Enforce the following error is seen, “Symantec Data Loss Prevention <version> Enforce Server requires Oracle Client installed. Please install Oracle Client before continuing the installation.”

 

Cause

This can happen if the Enforce installation cannot find the oracle client.

 

Resolution

Make sure the ORACLE_HOME variable is set.  Next make sure the PATH variable contains the link to the bin directory under ORACLE_HOME.  If this does not work then you will need to reinstall the oracle client.
