Workload domain vCenter server SSO administrator credentials are not showing up in the Password Management of SDDC manager

Issue/Introduction

• Workload Domain vCenter administrator credentials are not showing up under the Password Management section in VCF 5.
• SSO administrator credential for the Management domain vCenter server is showed in the Password Management.
• Even after running the lookup_passwords command, only administrator account information for the Management Domain vCenter is displayed.

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 5.X

Cause

vCenter Servers of Management domain and Workload domain are in Enhanced Linked Mode by default. They use the unique SSO administrator account [email protected]. Only one instance of administrator credentials is showed in SDDC Manager.

Resolution

This works as design. Password management of the SSO administrator account of vCenter Server in Management domain will also take effective for the one in Workload domain. See Information Security Design for VMware Cloud Foundation
