Failed to collect Kubernetes data from Prometheus Server

Issue/Introduction

• Data collection from the Kubernetes cluster via Prometheus stops.
• Test Validate Connection failed with:

Error: Unable to access the base URL of the Kubernetes control plane – /api/v1

• collector.log shows:

 ERROR [TasksManager-TaskHandler-xx]  com.vmware.vcops.adapter.dataprovider.KubernetesDataProvider.test - Unable to access the base url of Kubernetes control plane - /api/v1
java.lang.NullPointerException: null

INFO  [TasksManager-TaskHandler-xx]  com.integrien.alive.common.adapter3.logger.TestConnectionLogger.onTestEnd - OnTestEnd: adapter name - null: adapter ID - null: Test connection error - null: Unable to access the base url of Kubernetes control plane - /api/v1

Environment

Aria Operations 8.18.x

Management pack for kubernetes 2.2.2

Cause

Configuration files under /usr/lib/vmware-vcops/user/plugins/inbound/KubernetesAdapter3/ are changed by customization. 

Any configuration file is corrupted. 

Resolution

• Restore corrupted configuration files.
• Re-install management pack for kubernetes.
