Scheduled automatic backups do not start at the configured execution date and time.

Issue/Introduction

• Backups by scheduled automatic backup are not generated.

• Manual backups are successful.

• Recently, an issue was encountered where NSX Manager became unstable due to problems such as KB#396719, and automatic backups have not been generated since that time.

• Even though the state stabilized after restarting NSX Manager, automatic backups are still not generated.

• At the scheduled execution time of the backup, messages similar to the following are output in /var/log/proton/nsxapi.log:

2026-02-17T13:00:00.000Z  WARN policyProviderTaskScheduler-4 RefreshGlobalAlarmsTask 5053 POLICY [nsx@6876 comp="nsx-manager" level="WARNING" subcomp="manager"] Not a leader, ignoring scheduled task

Cause

Automatic backups are not generated due to the leadership issue described in KB#408537.

Resolution

Please refer to the Resolution section of KB#408537 and restart the proton service on the NSX Manager.
