only the first port up on Dual port NIC UCS VIC 15425

Issue/Introduction

 

• Brand new install ESXi, there are 4 NICs, but only two are up, the other two are disconnect/down
• As below vmnic0,2 are up, vmnic1,3 are down

Environment

ESXi 8.0.3

Model of the NIC: Dual port UCS VIC 15425

Cause

There is a Driver & FW mismatch. Current FW & driver:

Firmware Version: 5.4(1.34)
Version: 2.0.17.0

Resolution

1. Downgrade the FW to 5.3(5.76) to align with HCL;
2. Reboot ESXi host, issue fixed;
