Host commission problem, guardrail task failure - [Applicable to skipped ESXi Hosts]Perform set of validations for current workflow

Issue/Introduction

The subtask "Applicable to skipped ESXi Hosts - Perform set of validations for current workflow" on host commission fails with error -

HOST_COMMISSION operation validation failed due to: Failed to run guardrail validations of type HOST_COMMISSION on resource xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx

It is observed on the SDDC Manager UI > Password Management page that the svc-sddc_fqdn-nsxt_fqdn-#### , Resource Type NSXT account is due to expire shortly - attempting to rotate it fails.

 

Environment

VCF 9.0.1

Cause

NSX has locked the SDDC svc account used due to multiple incorrect login attempts.

Resolution

Implement this article to be able to rotate the svc-sddc_fqdn-nsxt_fqdn-#### account on the SDDC Manager -

Once this is done, it is expected that the host commission workflow will succeed when retried.
