Issue/Introduction

The VAMI is unable to detect the ISO file after it has been attached via the CD/DVD option on the vLR vLSR VM.

  • The ISO is not detected via the CLI.

  • It is also not visible in the VAMI under:
Updates → Available Updates → Check Updates → Check CD-ROM.

Environment

VMware Live Site Recovery 8.x, 9.0.2.x

VMware Live Recovery 8.x, 9.0.2.x

Cause

The ISO may be connected, but because the emulated CD tray may be stuck "open", the OS has not yet been allowed to mount the CD-ROM.

Resolution

  • Edit the appliance (VM) settings in vSphere inventory
    • Disconnect the CD-ROM and click OK.
    • Wait for the VM to finish reconfiguring
      • A pop up may occur warning about the tray and or another issue that pertains to this issue. Click continue to disconnect.
  • Edit the appliance (VM) again and click Connect on the CD-ROM and confirm the changes.

Refresh the VAMI site on your browser to see if the CD-ROM is not seen in the updates area.
