Environment
VMware Aria Operations 8.18
Cause
Administrative requirement to establish custom alerting for certificate lifecycle management.
Resolution
- Navigate to Operations > Configuration > Alert Definitions.
- Click ADD.
- In the 1 - Alert section:
- Name: Provide a designated name for the custom alert.
- Base Object Type: Select VMware Infrastructure Health > Certificates.
- In the 2 - Symptoms/Conditions section:
- Navigate and Add Conditions > Properties > Certificate information > Days to expire.
- Define the appropriate numeric thresholds for warning or critical alerts (e.g., < 30 days).
- In the 3 - Recommendations section:
- Add the designated recommendation for the alert.
- In the 4 - Policies section:
- Select the target policies to activate this alert within the environment.
- Click Create.
