Issue/Introduction
You are modifying a Service Mesh or its Compute Profile, or upgrading HCX appliances, and encountering an error "Error updating Compute Profile. The following services cannot be disabled since they are are already in use by the following Service Meshes: ..."
The service selection pane of the Service Mesh edition wizard does not display any service as selected and an error "HTTP 500" is shown at the top of the pane
The selection of remote Compute Profile fails to display any profile or the Pre-deployment Validation phase shows an error about the network containers:
Environment
VMware HCX
Cause
The Remote site's HCX manager cannot load the remote Compute Profile for this Service Mesh due to authentication errors with its vCenter and/or NSX manager
Resolution
Update the Service Account to the local vCenter account [email protected] for vCenter registration via HCX Manager Appliance (port 9443) of the target site under Configuration > vCenter Server.
Update the Service Account to the local NSX account admin for NSX registration via HCX Manager Appliance (port 9443) under Configuration > NSX.
Validate that the Service Account used in HCX 9443 page for VC registration is part of SSO Administrators group.
Restart the HCX services via HCX Manager Appliance (port 9443) under Dashboard
