Unable to scale out Aria Operations using Aria Suite Lifecycle

Issue/Introduction

• Administrators are unable to add cloud proxies as part of a Collector Group to a VMware Aria Operations environment using VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle.

• When attempting to add new Cloud Proxies via the scale-out wizard, the 'Next' button is unresponsive or greyed out.

• The wizard displays the error message:

  • Add a component for scaleout

Resolution

If you encounter deployment restrictions or password configuration errors within the Aria Suite Lifecycle wizard, deploying the Cloud Proxies natively through the VMware Aria Operations UI is a valid and fully supported workaround. This method bypasses the Lifecycle Manager's deployment blockers and allows you to quickly restore service and scaling capabilities.

• Log in to the VMware Aria Operations Admin UI and deploy the new Cloud Proxy nodes directly from there, as per the document below;

  • Configuring Cloud Proxies in VMware Aria Operations.

• Ensure the newly deployed Cloud Proxies are online, collecting data, and functioning as expected within Aria Operations.

• Log back into VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle.

• Navigate to your target environment and trigger an Inventory Sync.
