hprof files filling up root partition

Issue/Introduction

Root partition of Cloud Director cell filling up with hprof files in the /opt/vmware/vcloud-director/logs folder

• /opt/vmware/vcloud-director/logs/cell.log or /opt/vmware/vcloud-director/logs/cell.log.last shows errors similar to the following:
  
  java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space
Dumping heap to /opt/vmware/vcloud-director/logs/java_pidxxxxxxx.hprof ...

Environment

Cloud Director 10.6

Cause

Memory pressure in the operating system causes the Cloud Director service to run out of memory

Resolution

Check the appliance size with the sizing guidelines to ensure the cell is large enough to handle the environment:
