Resolution

Step-by-Step Migration Process

1. Launch the Migration Wizard

  1. Log in to the vSphere Client.

  2. Right-click the VM and select Migrate....

  3. Select Change storage only as the migration type and click Next

2. Configure the storage migration

  1. Select "Configure Per Disk"

  2. Select the checkbox next to the VM storage objects migrating

  3. Select "configure"

  4. Select the target datastore or datastore cluster, then select "confirm"

NOTE: The configuration should be set based on the destination datastore
    Example:
      • If the VM configuration file and disk 1 are moving to the same datastore, then the check boxes for both objects should be selected before clicking configure.
      • If the VM configuration file and disk 1 are moving to different datastores, select one checkbox before clicking configure, then choose the target datastore or datastore cluster for that object.
      • Repeat as necessary

  5. Select "Next"

3. In the "Ready to complete" window, validate the locations are correct for each storage object, then select "Finish"
