NSX edge interface may go down if is the associated vNIC is moved between port groups.

Issue/Introduction

NSX Edge interface remain in the state 'Down' with the moving of vNIC from one port group to other port group. 

 

 In NSX edge, the syslog file will contain event 

"edge_nic_link_status_down" 

"Edge node NIC fp-ethx  link is down"

 

 

Environment

NSX 4.2.0 

NSX 9.0

 

Cause

Moving of NSX Edge interface from one port group to other port group

Resolution

This is a known issue and fix will be available in NSX version 9.2.

Workaround:

Reconnect the NSX Edge vNIC to the assigned port group.
