Issue/Introduction

When viewing IPSLA data (jitter/latency/pktloss etc) dashboards in Performance Manager, where is Performance Manager pulling this data to view from?

We have Spectrum as a Data Source in Performance Manager but I am trying to better understand where/how everything is separated/saved within the integrations.

Our IPSLA test results are polled in Spectrum's SPM component, but I was wondering if these get saved anywhere in the Perf Manager DB(s) or are just being viewed from the SRM DB when looking at historic dashboards for this info.

Environment

DX NetOps :: All Supported Versions

Resolution

The DX NetOps Performance Management Portal does not pull IPSLA performance metrics from the Spectrum SRM database.

Data Integration Limitation: The only data type pulled directly from Spectrum into the Performance Management Portal is alarms.

Polling Mechanism: If IPSLA data (jitter, latency, etc.) is visible in Portal dashboards or views, it is because the Data Aggregator (DA) is polling the metrics via SNMP directly from the agent on the network device.

Verification: To confirm if PM is actively polling a specific device for these metrics:

  1. Select the specific router/device in the Portal.
  2. Navigate to Device Administration.
  3. Select Polled Metric Families.
  4. Verify if the IPSLA-related Metric Families are listed and active.
