Issue/Introduction

  1. Object-to-relationship mappings intermittently disappear within the environment.

  2. Restarting the custom adapter data collection temporarily restores the relationships.

  3. Approximately 24 hours post-restart, existing relationships (such as those mapped to the CPU) disappear and are dynamically replaced by a new relationship to a different transport node.

  4. Repeated resets of the adapter do not yield stable relationships.

Environment

8.18.x

Cause

The custom adapter collection and the native NSX adapter collection fail to synchronize consistently. Management packs built using the Management Pack Builder (MPB) do not synchronize relationships frequently enough, which causes the mappings to drop and remap incorrectly over time.

Resolution

  1. This is a known issue affecting management packs generated via the Management Pack Builder (MPB).

Note: There is no resolution available for version 8.18.x.

Permanent Fix:

Upgrade to version 9.0.x. This release contains a native fix that improves relationship synchronization handling for MPB-built management packs.
