Issue/Introduction

When attempting to add a Hitachi Storage Array to VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) using the "Add Array Provider" wizard, the operation fails:

Symptoms:

  • The SRM user interface displays the error: SRA command 'discoverArrays' failed.

  • The Storage Replication Adapter (SRA) is unable to perform the initial handshake with the storage array.
  • SRM appliance and SRA-specific directories have been verified to have adequate disk space.

Environment

VMware Live Recovery 9.0.x

Cause

The discoverArrays command failure indicates that the SRA cannot successfully authenticate or establish communication with the Hitachi Command Control Interface (CCI) or the storage processors. In this specific scenario, the issue is caused by an outdated version of the HORCM (CCI) server, which prevents the SRA from successfully executing the array discovery logic.

Resolution

Engage Hitachi Vantara support to analyze the CCI (HORCM) logs for specific authentication or timeout errors.

Additional Information

No errors observed in the vmware-dr.log or the SRA logs of the appliances.
