Edge SWG ICC service Unexpectedly Restarts

Issue/Introduction

The Internal Communication (ICC) service may restart unexpectedly on the Edge SWG appliances running specific versions of SGOS 7.x. When a restart occurs, management connectivity may be briefly interrupted.

The following logs can be found in the system logs. 

Event Log: An entry similar to:
202X-XX-XX XX:XX:XX-00:00UTC "Internal process restarted: ICC"

Software Exception: The sysinfo or core header may report:
Software exception code: 0x810001

Environment

SGOS prior to 7.3.29 and 7.4.15

Cause

A software defect was identified and related to ICC service. Under specific conditions, this can cause SGOS to become unstable and restart to recover.

Resolution

A fix for this issue is available for the 7.4 release train.
For SGOS 7.4 users: Upgrade to SGOS 7.4.15.1 (released March 24, 2026) or later.
For SGOS 7.3 users: The fix is scheduled and KB article will be updated when a patched version for the 7.3 train is released.
