Issue/Introduction

  • The newly added disk is mapped to the virtual machine but does not reflected in the Guest OS partition in Aria operations for Logs
  • Use the following commands to check on the inconsistencies between the Guest OS partition and the Logical Volume: df -h, lsblk and fdisk -l

Environment

Aria Operations for Logs 8. x

Cause

The cause of this issue is when a new disk is added to Aria Operations for Logs environment, the logical volume is expanded (using lvextend) and has successfully increased in size. However, the filesystem residing on that volume does not automatically recognize the new space.

Resolution

The workaround for this issue requires internal modifications in Aria Operations for Logs Appliance
