  • During testing, the Debian Linux 7/8 virtual machine fails to power on at the remote site.

  • The following log entry indicating “unsupportedGuestOS” is recorded in vmware-dr.log.

Resolution

Upgrade from the deprecated versions Debian Linux 7/8 to the supported versions.
This issue can be avoided on Debian Linux 10 and later.
