VMware tools fails to fully install on Windows 11

Issue/Introduction

VMware VMCI Host Device and VMware VMCI Bus Device fail to start after installing VMware tools 13.0.1 on Windows 11

Environment

Guest OS: Windows 11 23rh2 virtual machine

Cause

VMware Certificate does not install automatically nor manually, with Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 and the latest windows security updates installed. https://knowledge.broadcom.com/external/article/345060/vmware-tools-installation-or-upgrade-may.html 

 

Resolution

Install the latest release of Windows 11 25r2.
