Updating policy on a datastore.
Validation: Before applying a new policy, verify that the target VM storage policy (e.g., RAID-1, RAID-5, or RAID-6 configurations) is compatible with the underlying vSAN cluster resources, such as the number of available hosts and fault domains.
Navigation: In the vSphere Client, navigate to Storage and select the specific vSAN datastore.
Configuration Access: * Click the Configure tab.
Under the General section, locate the Default Storage Policy.
Policy Selection:
Click the Edit button.
Select the desired storage policy from the list of compatible policies (those with vSAN-specific rule sets).
(Optional): You may also modify the Improved Virtual Disk Home Storage Policy by clicking Edit to assign a specific policy for VM home objects.
Application: Click OK.
