Issue/Introduction

When deploying the VMware Identity Broker in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environments, users may observe that the vCenter Server is not available for selection during the VMware Identity Broker deployment workflow.

Environment

VCF Operations 9.x
VCF Fleet Management 9.x
VMware Identity Broker 9.x
vCenter Server 9.x

Cause

The VMware Identity Broker deployment process within VCF Operations only lists vCenter instances that are part of the VCF-managed environment. If the vCenter instance is not part of the VCF-managed environment., it will not be available for selection during the Identity Broker deployment wizard.

Resolution

This is expected behavior by design.

To deploy VMware Identity Broker successfully:
- Ensure the target vCenter Server is managed within the VCF environment.
- If the vCenter is standalone, it must first be brought under VCF management before it can be selected during VMware Identity Broker deployment.
