Issue/Introduction

Not receiving DNAC events after migrating the Virtual Network Assurance (VNA) gateway from the "primary" server to the "secondary" server․‌‍

SYMPTOMS:

  • VNA Self Monitoring Domain status displays as Waiting for VNA response

  • Selfmon model in the MLS is in a light-blue state

  • No DNAC related events flow through post migration

CONTEXT: Occurs after switching VNA gateways from "primary" to "secondary" in a High Availability deployment

We are using the VNA migration steps to simulate a manual HA deployment.

The following steps were applied:

On the primary VNA host backup the following information:

a) Take note of the MySQL VNA Database Name

b) Stop the wildfly (systemctl stop wildfly)

c) Backup the MySQL VNA database

d) Backup the <VNA_home>/collector/ directory

On the secondary VNA host restore the following information after installing VNA application:

a) Stop the wildfly

b) Restore the MySQL VNA database

c) Restore the <VNA_home>/collector/ directory

d) Replace the MySQL VNA Database Name in the /etc/VNA.cfg file and <VNA_home>/wildfly/standalone/configuration/standalone.xml file.

e) Start the wildfly (systemctl start wildfly)

Environment

DX NetOps Spectrum and VNA (Virtual Network Assurance: Any version

Resolution

After updating the VNA Gateway Configuration (VNA hostnames) on the OneClick Administration page, stop/start the Spectrum Tomcat service on the OneClick server where the VNA integration is enabled.
