Issue/Introduction

Starting with version 10.9.2, Symantec Messaging Gateway (SMG) introduces support for MTA Strict Transport Security (MTA-STS). This protocol allows mail service providers to declare their ability to receive TLS-secure SMTP connections and specify how sending servers should handle delivery if a secure connection cannot be established.

Configuration Steps

To enable and configure MTA-STS support for a specific domain, follow the navigation path and settings below:

  1. Navigate to Domains: In the Control Center, go to Protocols > Domains.

  2. Select the Domain: Locate and click on the Domain you wish to configure from the list.

  3. Access Delivery Settings: On the Edit Domain page, locate the Delivery tab or section related to encryption.

  4. Configure TLS Encryption:

    • Ensure TLS encryption is enabled for the domain.

    • Check the option: Use MTA-STS for secure delivery.

  5. Save Changes: Click Save to apply the configuration.
