Recovery Plan Test fails with error "Failed to create snapshots of replica devices. The devices don't have consistency enabled. Please check and enable consistency on the devices"

Issue/Introduction

When running a TEST recovery using VMware Live Site Recovery, the following error is thrown:

"Failed to create snapshot for replica devices. Failed to create snapshot for replication consistency group 'xxxxx'. SRA command 'testFailoverStart' failed for consistency group 'xxxx'. The devices don't have consistency enabled. Please check and enable consistency on the devices"

VMware Live Site Recovery 9.x

Cause

This error message indicates that the SRA command 'testFailoverStart' failed due to a configuration error on the storage array side. 

The configuration error is that devices participating in the configured consistency group do not have the consistency parameter enabled.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, a configuration change will need to be made within the Storage Array.

• Enable the 'consistency' parameter for the desired LUNs within the storage array

If additional assistance is needed, reach out to your Storage Array vendor support team, as this configuration setting is outside of VMware Live Recovery.
