Issue/Introduction

reviewing the Release Notes for version 26.1.1 and noticed the following change:
“APM alerts with a Normal status will no longer be displayed on the Metric graph.”

You currently rely on alert-generated metrics to feed several dashboards, which are used to display the configured alarms along with their respective statuses. This visibility is important for you in order to show when an application is operating normally.

In addition, you use alert metrics to build custom alerting logic that cannot currently be achieved through Summary Alerts. For example, you have three alerts (A, B, and C), and you want to trigger an alert when B or C are firing, but only if A is not firing. This level of conditional logic is not available through Summary Alerts at the moment.

Please confirm whether this change will impact these use cases? If so, what alternative approach would you recommend to achieve similar behavior going forward?

Resolution

DX dashboards should not be impacted by the upcoming changes related to the “APM alerts with a Normal status will no longer be displayed on the Metric graph.”
The changes are related to consolidating the APM management modules and platform management modules.

Your DX dashboards should continue to function as they are doing now.
Reviewed the some DX dashboard settings that you provided, and do not see how the changes that will be released with 26.1.1 could impact your DX Dashboards.
Tested the APM sample and APM summary alerts in a test environment where it has been upgraded to release 26.1.1, and both APM sample and APM summary alerts seems to work normally/properly.
