Is the DR feature of HCX going away?

Issue/Introduction

1. Articles have been released by unknown parties stating that the DR feature of HCX is going away. Can we confirm the accuracy of this?
2. Is there an exact date or time frame when the HCX DR feature will retire?
3. Is there a way that we can get a timed extension since we use this feature heavily in our production environment?

Resolution

Based on Current documentation:

1. DR is deprecated in the 4.x series and removed in the 9.x series. The "deprecated" status just means you will receive warnings that the feature will go away in a future release. The 9.x tech blog  shows the feature is removed. KB 413755 shows the deprecation of DR, but also calls out an issue with DR, where SOME people have experienced DR breaking on SOME vm's. The workaround is to remove and recreate the DR for those VM's, showing that DR is still functional in HCX 4.11.3.
2. There is no exact date for removal of features. The best documentation that is currently available is the End of Support date listed in the VMware Product Lifecycle Matrix for the current version of HCX 4.11. At the time of this article, it is 4.11.3, which is scheduled for End of Service on October 11, 2027. 
3. When the End of Service date approaches for any product, you can contact your sales representative about Extended Support Contracts. In the case of HCX, if you may also have to discuss the issue with your cloud provider, as they often dictate when a customer MUST upgrade to the next release.
