CA Automic Workload Automation - Automation Engine Automic SaaS

Issue/Introduction

When the SAP IBP system is unavailable due to planned maintenance, Automic jobs integrating with SAP IBP do not fail or abort as expected.

Instead, the job remains in a "Running" state indefinitely, filling the job report with repeated error messages.

The user is forced to manually cancel the job to stop the loop.

Symptoms observed in the Job Report: The log repeatedly displays a redirection error similar to the following:

Your IBP System is currently unavailable as planned maintenance is in progress.
For more details, you can refer to the Service Level Agreement for SAP Cloud Services.
jakarta.ws.rs.Processing Exception: java.net.ProtocolException: Server redirected too many times (20)

Environment

  • Product: Automic Automation Engine

  • Component: Integration SAP IBP

  • Release: 21.0.5

  • OS: Windows / Linux (Platform independent)

Cause

The SAP IBP Agent does not currently interpret the maintenance response (which results in a redirection loop) as a fatal error.

Consequently, the agent retries indefinitely instead of aborting the job
