Issue/Introduction

Windows マシンで VMRC 13.0.0/13.0.1 から 13.0.2 へのアップデートが "Failed to install USB inf file." により失敗します。

Cause

VMRC が含んでいる USB arbitrator service の内部バージョンの不整合により、VMRC のアップデートが Windows マシンで失敗します。この事象は Linux や Mac の VMRC のアップデートでは発生しません。

Broadcom エンジニアリングチームは根本原因を特定し、この問題が Windows 上での VMRC 13.0.0/13.0.1 から 13.0.2 へのアップデートでのみ発生し以降のリリースバージョンでは発生しないことを確認しました。

Resolution

既存の VMRC をアンインストールし、VMRC 13.0.2 を手動でインストールすることで本事象は回避可能となります。
