Issue/Introduction

  • During the NSX upgrade of Transport Nodes, the upgrade process fails with the following error message:
    Upgrade failed: vSAN health test 'Operation health' reported an issue for cluster '###-####-###-##'. Check the vSAN health.
  • In the NSX, System > Upgrade > Hosts > Click on "Failed" the following error is displayed:

Cause

The upgrade process failed because a vSAN health check reported an alert, which prevents the NSX upgrade from proceeding, in the below screenshot an ESXi host had physical disk failure, this was highlighted on Skyline health under vSAN.

Resolution
