Issue/Introduction

This issue can present in multiple ways. Some examples include the following.

  • The recent tasks section in the SDDC Manager UI takes a long time or never loads tasks.
  • Fetching task info is displayed for several minutes before the actual task information is displayed.
  • System performance degradation is observed when loading recent tasks.

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 5.x
VMware Cloud Foundation 9.x

Resolution

  1. Take a snapshot of the SDDC manager VM
  2. SSH into the SDDC Manager as the vcf user, then run su to obtain root privileges.
  3. Copy the attached sddc_task_fixer.py script to the /home/vcf/ director
  4. Run the sddc_task_fixer.py script to cleanup SDDC Manager Tasks.

    python sddc_task_fixer.py
