Issue/Introduction

Getting below error while trying to sync the catalog:

Validation failed for the OVF file provided: The organization vDC 'vDC Name' does not support the virtual hardware version defined in the OVF Highest supported hardware version is 19. OVF contains hardware version 21.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.6.x

Cause

The synchronization is failing because the hardware version of the source template exceeds the maximum hardware version supported by the destination Provider Virtual Data Center (PvDC).

Resolution

To increase the highest virtual hardware version a Provider Virtual Data Center (PvDC) supports, see Edit the General Settings of a Provider Virtual Data Center in Your VMware Cloud Director.
  1. In the primary left navigation panel, select Resources, then select Cloud Resources from the top bar from vCD Provider portal.

  2. In the secondary left panel, select Provider vDCs and click the name of the target PvDC.

  3. Navigate to the Configure > General tab and click Edit in the upper right corner.

  4. Update the highest supported Hardware Version to match the source requirements.

Alternatively, import the Virtual Machine for the hardware version supported by a Provider vDC.
