Issue/Introduction

You are starting up Web Viewer 14 and the application server is deployed and running. When attempting to connect you are not able to connect to the application.

After seeing the Web Viewer log you see the following:

Parse fatal error at line [1] column [39]
 org.xml.sax.SAXParseException; lineNumber: 1; columnNumber: 39; Content is not allowed in prolog.

Cause

XML is attempting to find and parse a file that is improper or may not even exist.

This common cause of this is which directory you are pointing towards.

Resolution

Check the the environment variables to see which directories are being used. 

For example:

CAWVHOME is used for Web Viewer home directory and many files will be found according to where CAWVHOME variable is set.
