Problem

Unable to connect to a new hardware appliance via a serial console. Possible error messages are below.

Oracle(R) Integrated Lights Out Manager Remote Console

Video redirection error?

Connection failed: Check the destination address and confirm that the KVMS service is enabled and running a supported version.?

Solution

The solution is as follows:

1. Remove the following two files from the?/etc/init/?directory
   • layer7-ttyS0.conf
   • layer7-ttyS1.conf
2. Reboot the SecureSpan Gateway (SSG)?
