Issue/Introduction

VMware Remote Console (VMRC) 11.x is no longer available for standard download on the Broadcom Support Portal.

• Log in to the Broadcom Support portal.
• Go to My Downloads
• Search for vSphere and select "VMware vSphere"
• Select the license type and Major version
• Go to Drivers & Tools tab
• Read the Terms and Conditions by clicking on the "Terms and Conditions" link.
• Check the box before "I agree to the Terms and Conditions"

VMware Remote Console (VMRC) 13.x

Cause

As of the current product lifecycle, the portal typically maintains the two most recent major versions (12.x and 13.x).  VMRC 11.x reached its End of General Support (EoGS) phase alongside vSphere 7.x legacy components.

Resolution

Broadcom has consolidated the download repository to focus on VMRC 12.0.x and VMRC 13.0.x. Version 11.x is considered a legacy release and is removed from the public "My Downloads" view to ensure users are on versions that include critical security patches (such as those addressing CVE-2020-3974).  

VMRC 12.x is backward compatible with ESXi 6.7 and 7.x hosts.  It is recommended to use VMRC 12.0.x.
