primary_datastore_type set as FC, the datastore name does not show under cluster inventory view

Issue/Introduction

• Administrators need to decommission or replace the physical Fibre Channel (FC) primary storage array.
• When navigating to cluster the section of a Workload Domain, does not show any datastore under VMFS.
• This issue specifically affects Workload Domains where the primary storage type is Fibre Channel (FC).
• While the datastore may still be visible and functional in vCenter Server, SDDC Manager fails to display the name in its cluster inventory view.

Environment

• VCF 5.x

Cause

SDDC Manager relies on the specific name and unique ID of the primary datastore established during the workload domain creation. In versions prior to VCF 9.0, there is no supported workflow to update this association if the physical storage is replaced.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in VMware Cloud Foundation 9.0
