Issue/Introduction

  • There are multiple Tier 0/Tier 0 VFR logical routers configured on the same edge cluster.
  • By default only one Tier 0 is allowed per edge node, additional Tier 0 VRF's can be added to the same edge cluster as the Tier 0.
  • The Tier 0 is in a failed state, when you click on the failed state, it displays and error similar to:

[error_code=10140, module_name=ROUTING, error_message='[Routing] [Logical-Switch-trunk-vlan ([[0, 4094]]) of LogicalSwitch/<UUID-1>] overlapping with [Logical-Switch-vlan of LogicalSwitch/<UUID-2>] in same underlying Edge host-switch is not allowed. Change vlan configuration.',
[Routing] [Logical-Switch-trunk-vlan ([[0, 4094]]) of LogicalSwitch/<UUID-1>] overlapping with [Logical-Switch-vlan of LogicalSwitch/<UUID>] in same underlying Edge host-switch is not allowed. Change vlan configuration.

Environment

VMware NSX

Cause

An edge node host switch can not have overlapping VLANs, the logical switches mentioned in the error message have the same or overlapping VLANs attached to a logical router which is part of the same edge cluster as another logical router with similar VLANs configured.

Resolution

Identify the logical switches with the same or overlapping VLANs and edit them, so they do not match or overlap, or move the logical routers with the same or overlapping VLANs to different edge clusters.

Additional Information

Logical-Switch-vlan of LogicalSwitch overlapping with Logical-Switch-vlan of LogicalSwitch in same underlying Edge host-switch is not allowed. Change vlan configuration
