Getting Handshake error: 3154 in Policy Server when integrating with Identity Manager

Issue/Introduction

Running Policy Server, this one reports the error:

Bad security handshake attempt. Handshake error: 3154
Handshake error: Shared secret incorrect for this client
Failed handshake with ::ffff:10.0.0.1:58448

Environment

  Identity Manager 14.1;
  Policy Server 12.8SP8CR01.

Cause

According to Identity Manager documentation, the password used for the 4.x agent should contain only an alphanumeric character and no special characters (1).

A password containing "@" character, or any character outside the alphanumeric list, won't work.

Resolution

 

• Use only letters or numbers for the password 4x agent;
• Encrypt again the IdM password for the 4.x Agent using RC2;
• Ensure that the password encrypted in IdM is the same password defined for the 4.x agent.
