Aria Operations cluster stuck Going Online

Issue/Introduction

• The status of the Aria Operations cluster in the Admin UI is "Going Online"
• The status of all the analytic nodes (primary replica, data) in the Admin UI is "Waiting for Analytics"
• Reviewing the /storage/vcops/log/analytics-<uuid>.log on one or more analytic nodes has the following error
  

  ERROR [Analytics Main Thread]  com.integrien.analytics.AnalyticsMain.createGemfireCache - Can not connect to gemfire: Problem starting up membership services

• Reviewing the /storage/vcops/log/gemfire_vRealize Ops Analytics_<uuid>.log file on the same node has the following error
  

  INFO  [Analytics Main Thread tid=18] org.apache.geode.distributed.internal.membership.gms.Services.attemptToJoin - Failed to send join request to coordinator ##.##.##.##(###:locator)<ec><v0>:200##, io.netty.channel.AbstractChannel$AnnotatedConnectException: Connection refused: /##.##.##.##:200##

Environment

Aria Operations 8.18.x

Cause

The firewall in the environment is not configured to allow communication on all required ports for Aria Operations.

Note: NSX can block traffic even if the VMs run on the same ESXi host.

Resolution

Update the firewall in the environment to allow traffic on all Aria Operations required ports.
