Issue/Introduction

On SDDC Manager UI > Inventory > Workload Domains > affected workload domain > ACTIONS > Add Cluster, step 4 - Switch Configuration progression is blocked due to red banner error -

Failed to fetch Transport Zone information

Environment

VCF 5.2.2

Cause

The admin, root, and audit accounts for the NSX Manager associated with the workload domain are disconnected from the SDDC Manager.

Because the SDDC Manager is unable to connect to the NSX Manager (disconnected accounts), the transport zone details can't be fetched, hence the red banner error being seen.

Resolution

Implement these actions -

  • Reconnect the admin, root, and audit accounts for the NSX Manager associated with the workload domain on the SDDC Manager.
  • To do this, on the SDDC Manager UI > Security > Password Management page - remediate the admin, root, and audit account for the NSX Manager.
  • Try to add the cluster again, the issue is expected to be resolved

Note -

  • If the remediation of an NSX Manager account fails with an error "Connection timed out", this indicates that there is no network connectivity between the SDDC Manager and the NSX Manager - this needs to be resolved before retrying the remediation
  • If the remediation of an NSX Manager account fails with an error "The credentials were incorrect or the account specified has been locked" and the error below is observed in the SDDC Manager log /var/log/vmware/vcf/operationsmanager/operationsmanager.log, please implement this article - https://knowledge.broadcom.com/external/article?articleNumber=314647
