Handle vSphere resource name change after SSP deployment

Issue/Introduction

After SSP deployment, vCenter admin can change the resources name such as Datacenter name, Storage name, DVS name, Storage policy, Resource pool, Cluster name etc. This article provides manual steps to handle this case.

Environment

vSphere, SSP, SSPI.

Cause

The SSP deployment is based on the resources at the time of deployment. If admin changes the vCenter resource post deployment, the existing cluster needs to be adjusted to handle this.
