Issue/Introduction

UIM has many sqlserver probe instances configured with connections using the same domain User ID, with profiles being managed via the Infrastructure Manager.

We are seeking a streamlined approach to reduce the time spent on manual updates and, more importantly, to avoid potential account lockouts.

Could you please provide guidance?

Environment

Any sqlserver probe version

Resolution

1. (Optional) To monitor sqlserver login errors, configure the OC Alarm console to only display sqlserver probe alarms.
2. Deactivate the sqlserver probe on all robots.
3. Obtain the new user id password.
4. Activate one sqlserver probe instance. Once activated, update the password via the configuration menu in Infrastructure Manager (IM), validate the authentication, and save the changes.
5. Steps to obtain the encrypted password key from above probe instance.

a. Open the Raw Configure menu for the updated probe
b. Navigate to the "Connection" section and expand the section
c. Select the connection, and copy the encrypted value from the password key.
d. Click on cancel to exit Raw Configure

6. Steps to update the password on a deactivated probe.

a. Open the Raw Configure menu
b. Update the password field in the connection string.
c. Save the changes.
d. Activate the probe.

7. Monitor the Alarm console to ensure no login failures are reported.
8. Repeat Step 6 and 7 on remaining sqlserver probe instances.
