Unable to upgrade NSX Limited Export environment using standard MUB file.

Issue/Introduction

Unable to upgrade NSX environment with current version 4.2.1.1 Limited Export using standard MUB file. It fails with an error message as "NSX installation is a Limited Export build and cannot be upgraded using the standard MUB file"

Cause

NSX Limited Export environment cannot be upgraded using Standard MUB. You would need to download the Limited Export MUB file from Broardcom portal. 

Resolution

Follow the below steps to download the correct MUB file 

• Login into Broadcom portal
• Click on Downloads
• Search for NSX in products
• Select NSX enterprise plus 
• Select the NSX 4.x version 
• Select View group option 
• Select the targert NSX version with Limited Export from the drop down list
• Search for MUB
• Download the MUB
